Creating a left navigation

A left navigation is exactly like a right navigation, except - as the name implies - it will go on the left of whatever content page you add it to.

Usually, left navigations are created by associations whose web sites do not have permanent left navigation buttons.  If your site was built with only permanent top navigation, you can use left navigations as a way to provide internal navigation links within sections.  If your site includes permanent left navigation, you can still create your own left navigations, but your page may end up getting crowded.

When you add a left navigation to a common or sub page, it is always displayed on the left of that page.  If you are trying to create a fly-out list of links that appears when you roll over a permanent left button, see Navigation menus instead.

The process of creating a left navigation is identical to the process of creating a right navigation.  To create a left navigation, just click your Common Left Navigation link on your admin page.  Then follow the instructions for creating a right navigation.
